About Simon

Why thefieldcoach?

I've spent most of my career working in field-service and customer operations, including almost 20 years leading large, remote field-based teams.

I've managed technicians, engineers and managers, with teams of up to 200 people, and I've experienced first-hand the challenges that come with leading people in a field environment.

I've also learned that being a good technician doesn't automatically prepare you for being a good manager.

The people side of leadership can be the hardest part of the job.

That's why I created thefieldcoach.

I qualified as a Level 5 Professional Coach through a UK Government-approved coaching apprenticeship and now combine my coaching skills with my practical experience of leading field-based teams.

My approach is straightforward: I won't tell you what to do. I'll help you think it through.

Because the answer is often already there — it just takes the right questions to uncover it.

You don't need a big L&D department to develop your field leaders

For smaller and medium-sized field-service businesses, developing new managers can be difficult.
